I have had to make some decisions about the best way to go out and explore the parks around Iowa. My initial idea was to tent camp, but the amount of time I wanted to spend in the parks swayed my decision towards more comfortable accommodations for longer visits. I decided on an 18 foot Jayco Jayflight Swift SLX ultra light trailer that can be towed with a fairly fuel efficient 6 cylinder. This will serve as my office when I’m in the field mapping trails and exploring parks.
This years agenda is to develop 4 trail map bandannas for popular state parks in Iowa. I’ll also write up as many parks as possible around the areas that I’m staying. You can keep up with my progress through this blog and the social media links below.
